If you are over 40 and want a muscle supplement built on researched ingredients, Advanced Muscle Plus is one of the most transparent we have reviewed. Every dose is printed: 1,500 mg of HMB (myHMB), 2,000 mg of dileucine (DL185) and vitamin D. It comes from Advanced Bionutritionals, a company with a U.S. address that discloses its paid doctor, it is a one time purchase, and the 90 day guarantee accepts empty bottles. Two things to know: the vitamin D dose is high, and it works best alongside strength training, not instead of it.

Who Makes Advanced Muscle Plus?
Advanced Bionutritionals, LLC, of Norcross, Georgia, the company behind the Advanced Memory Formula, Advanced Amino Formula and Advanced Collagen Plus. The product is presented by Dr. Greg Eckel, a naturopathic physician, and the page states that he is paid by the company for endorsing it. The page shows 26 customer reviews with a 4.5 average and 88% recommending it, a more realistic picture than the perfect scores many sales pages display.
The Advanced Muscle Plus Label
Six tablets provide vitamin D 200 mcg (as cholecalciferol, 1,000% of the Daily Value), calcium 195 mg from the HMB salt, dileucine 2,000 mg (DL185) and calcium HMB monohydrate 1,500 mg (myHMB). Other ingredients are powdered cellulose, croscarmellose sodium, silica, vegetable calcium stearate and a cellulose coating. No proprietary blend, no stimulants.

The ingredients have real human research behind them, which is more than most products we review can say. Two details are worth knowing: the HMB studies in older adults commonly used 3 grams a day, twice the 1,500 mg here, and the dileucine study measured a single dose in young men, not long term results in older adults. The Sales Page Claims
The sales page uses some big numbers, such as “159%” more muscle protein synthesis and “57%” less muscle loss, and says you can build muscle without hard exercise. It does not say which study each number comes from, and the studies we read support keeping and building muscle alongside activity, not a shortcut. On the plus side, the FAQ lists 15 journal references, a level of sourcing most sales pages do not offer.

The page offers a 90 day “Build Muscle or it’s Free” guarantee: send back the bottles, even empty, for a full refund. The wording on shipping differs within the page: the guarantee section says the refund is “minus shipping”, while the order boxes say “you only pay return shipping”. Confirm with customer support before you return anything.
Is Advanced Muscle Plus Safe?
Vitamin D. 200 mcg is 8,000 IU, twice the 4,000 IU daily amount Mayo Clinic advises adults not to exceed without medical advice. Too much can lead to high blood calcium, with nausea, vomiting, weakness, frequent urination, bone pain and kidney stones. Do not add another vitamin D supplement without asking your doctor.
Calcium. The HMB salt adds 195 mg of calcium per serving, so count it if you also take a calcium supplement.
Medical conditions. The brand advises talking to a doctor first if you have health conditions or take medicines.

Advanced Muscle Plus is a well built product from a company that prints its doses, discloses its paid endorsement and accepts empty bottles for a refund. If you are over 40, training for strength and want a supplement based on ingredients with human research, it is a reasonable one to try. It stops short of a higher score because of the high vitamin D dose, HMB below the amount most studies used, and a few sales page numbers we could not trace.
